I recently moved out of Central Place after residing here for four years. Despite a largely positive experience, there were a couple of significant issues that influenced my decision to move.
Firstly, there was a persistent problem with the low water level in the flush toilet bowl. This issue lasted for about a year. The last time I reached out to maintenance, they informed me that the problem stemmed from a broader issue with the building. Despite a year having passed, this hasn't been addressed.
Secondly, many pet owners in the building are irresponsible. They frequently allow their dogs to urinate right at the building's entrance. The bricks outside often appear yellow instead of grey and carry an unpleasant odor. The situation was exacerbated on one occasion when my boyfriend encountered a puddle of dog urine right inside the elevator. The front desk attendant had to clean it herself. Apparently a dog owner left the scene without notifying anyone. The elevator had a foul smell for two subsequent days.
However, aside from these drawbacks, my experience at Central Place was overwhelmingly positive:
Exceptional Front Desk Staff: They were always friendly and accommodating. Every single one of them. They would assist by opening the door when my hands were full and direct me appropriately whenever necessary. Their professionalism far exceeds what I've encountered at my new place.
Responsive Maintenance Team: With the exception of the toilet water level issue, the maintenance team was remarkably prompt. Typically, they addressed any problems within two hours of my lodging a complaint.
Understanding Leasing Staff: I frequently used an international credit card to pay my rent, which occasionally resulted in payment failures unbeknownst to me. There are penalties for late payments, but the leasing office was always understanding. On the few occasions when my payment was delayed, they waived the penalties after I explained the situation.
Central Place was more than just a residence to me over the four years I lived there. The commendable professionalism of the front desk staff, the quick responsiveness of the maintenance team, and the empathy shown by the leasing office made it feel like a community. Although I had to move due to specific unresolved issues, my overall experience was undeniably positive. For anyone considering a stay at Central Place, I would highly recommend the place.
I have been working with this property and their management team (as their primary contact for Package Concierge locker systems) for over a year now and EVERYONE over at Central Place is AMAZING. Super polite, professional, and all around great with communication. Their Assistant Community Manager Angela is just a ABSOLUTE delight to speak with! If you want a place where you can speak with the management team and have a great experience while doing so, Central Place is definitely the place to go!
The location is what makes this property. 15 minute walk over Key Bridge and you’re in Georgetown. A two minute walk and you’re on the Metro. A step outside the front lobby and you are anywhere you want to be in minutes. The views from the units are amazing. Also, if you are a dog owner the property is very dog friendly. They even have dog biscuits at the front desk. In closing, if you work in DC, go to school at Georgetown, or work in the Pentagon, this is the place for you. P.S. The staff really knows how to take care of the residents… friendly and professional.
I moved here in August for school and have had a great experience ever since. The concierge service is outstanding. Two concierges in specific, Ana and Iris, are not only friendly but very personable and welcoming. I always love seeing them at the desk, knowing I’ll get a “welcome home” and a quick convo. They never make me feel like my questions/problems are a burden. They are irreplaceable!
The common spaces are constantly cleaned and look beautiful, especially the gym. Maintenance is very responsive and accommodating in the case you need help. Can’t beat the location. 5/5 definitely recommend!
I moved in recently and am VERY impressed with the building and it’s amenities. Everything is kept very clean, the views (all around) are awesome, and the employees are very friendly. Titi, my leasing consultant, has been especially helpful with the moving process, and has been available to answer all of my questions and help in any way she can.
Central Place is absolutely fantastic.
Location: The location couldn't be better. Georgetown is a short walk across the Key Bridge and the Metro (located next door at Central Place Plaza) puts all of DC a few minutes from home.
Amenities: The gym is always clean and has everything I need. The pool is fantastic. (I wish there was a jacuzzi but that's a minor quibble.). The community areas are well maintained and offer plenty of entertaining options.
Staff: The maintenance team is very responsive...if you need anything done...they are there quickly. The front desk is awesome! Ana and Jalicia are helpful and friendly. It's a little thing...but we love hearing "Welcome home" when we come through the door!
Central place is excellent. From the location, the amenities, and most importantly - the people. The leasing office staff, most notably Samar, Titi, and Spencer, couldn’t be more helpful, welcoming, and competent. They’ve anticipated needs …
